Mayor Tobin opened the meeting of the Mayor and Board of Trustees at 6:30 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll Call: Mayor Tobin Present Deputy Mayor Sim Present Trustee Lockart Present Trustee Rubino Present Trustee White Present Clerk Blot Present Minutes of the regularly scheduled board meeting that was held on September 7, 2021, were reviewed by the present members of the board. A motion was made by Trustee White to approve the minutes. Motion seconded by Trustee Lockart. The Clerk requested a vote for Resolution 2021-65 “Transfer of funds to capital reserve funds”. A motion was made by Trustee Lockart to approve Resolution 2021-65, as presented. The Clerk stated a recommendation letter had been submitted from Superintendent Decker, recommending that award be made to Goldstein Buick GMC for the recent bid for the GMC Sierra 2500 pick-up truck. The Clerk requested a vote for Resolution 2021-66 “Purchase of new 2022 Chevrolet 2500 pickup truck”. A motion was made by Deputy Mayor Sim to approve Resolution 2021-66, as presented. The Clerk requested a vote for Resolution 2021-69 “Authorize the Clerk to hold a public hearing in connection with a proposed local law of the Village of Colonie to opt out of on-site cannabis consumption premises pursuant to the Marijuana Regulation and Taxation Act” to be held on Monday, October 4, 2021 at 6:30 p.m. at Village Hall, 2 Thunder Road, Albany, NY 12205. The Clerk read aloud correspondence from Code Officer Steve Meservey in response to concerns that were mentioned by fire Chief Kayser at the last board meeting regarding the new storage facility at 1653 Central Avenue. Code Officer Meservey stated in his letter that he reviewed the building, plans and codes again and the building meets all necessary 2020 updated building and fire code requirements. Code Officer Meservey also thanked the Mayor and Board in his letter for the much-needed vehicle for the codes/building department. Trustee Lockart thanked Trustee Rubino and the DPW staff for the assistance in cleaning out the Outreach Center recently. She commended all for a job well done. Trustee Rubino also thanked the DPW for the work they did and asked Superintendent Decker to pass along their thanks to his crews. Deputy Mayor Sim stated that he attended the beginning of the NYCOM training school. He attended classes regarding the American Rescue Plan Funding and is set to attend for the rest of this week. Mayor Tobin mentioned that the 2021 Concert Series has come to and end and thanked all who helped. He also mentioned that on September 30, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. at the Town of Colonie Hall, the Village and Town will be recognizing the Colonie Little League for their current season. He added that we will be presenting a proclamation to the Little League. Mayor Tobin mentioned that this Friday, September 24th is the opening for Volvo, which will take place at 11:00 a.m. Chief Kayser, Superintendent Decker and Clerk Blot thanked the Mayor and Board for setting aside funding for vehicles/building repairs.
