Lew Oliver Recovering By Daniel Van Riper This past February Save the Pine Bush's intrepid lawyer, Lew Oliver, was robbed and shot in the leg by bandits while he was attempting to take a much-needed vacation on the Caribbean island of St. Kitts. Lew was attacked while walking through a forest preserve on the island and rescued by the St. Kitts army. He was quickly transported back to Albany, and spent several weeks at Albany Med, where he was listed in fair condition. Apparently the wound is in the upper part of his leg, and will take a while to heal.
At last report he has been transferred to St. Peter's Hospital and is going through rehab. He has not been too keen on receiving visitors and has refused to talk to reporters, but it seems he is already getting back to work.
All of us volunteers at Save the Pine Bush wish Lew the best of health and a speedy recovery.
